For all your transportation and other small purchases in Japan
Simplify your transport by train, subway, and bus in Japan with a prepaid Pasmo card.
The Pasmo Card is a prepaid smart card that allows travel on almost all methods of transport in Japan (subway, trains, and buses). By touching the card on the appropriate symbol on ticket gates, the card is charged for each trip. Originally created for Tokyo, it can now be used all over Japan since March 2013.
The Pasmo Card is already charged and ready to be used.
You will need one Pasmo card per person: once you have used all the credit on the card, it is possible to top-up the card with credit.
PASMO CARD VALIDITY
The Pasmo card can be used in major cities in Japan for travel on:
JR train lines
Private train lines
Tokyo subway lines
on buses and taxis with the Pasmo logo
Please note: The Pasmo card will not work on express trains or shinkansen bullet trains.
The Pasmo card can also be used as an electronic wallet. You can use it to make small purchases in combini (convenience stores) or drink vending machines with the IC card logo.
It can also be used to pay for parking and other services in train stations.
The Pasmo card is already charged and has ¥2000 on it (including the ¥500 deposit). The deposit can be reclaimed ONLY by returning your card in certain areas in Tokyo: in Narita and Haneda airports or in Keisei or Keihin line train stations.
The Pasmo cards we offer are not nominative and are reserved for adult travelers. Pasmo cards for children can be purchased directly in Japan.
You can also keep your Pasmo card for your next trip. It will not expire for 10 years.
